Our Founders
Ex-HP • Ex-Citrix • Built & Exited Cloud Startup (ActOnMagic → NTT Netmagic)
HabitZup was founded by technologists who spent years building large-scale enterprise systems and cloud platforms. Today, they focus on helping people develop clarity, judgment, and positive habits in an increasingly complex world.
Madan is an entrepreneur, author, and product builder focused on helping people develop clarity and thoughtful decision-making.
He spent nearly a decade at Hewlett-Packard, working on Internet Services for HP-UX, HP Server Blade platforms, and the HP Insight management suite, contributing to enterprise infrastructure used by organizations worldwide.
He later worked at Citrix Systems, where he helped build cloud portals and XenServer self-service platforms, collaborating with service providers to enable Business Operations Support Systems (BOSS) for cloud infrastructure.
Madan later co-founded ActOnMagic Technologies, a cloud technology startup that was acquired by NTT Netmagic, where he helped scale teams and cloud products serving global customers.
He is also the author of I'm Not Busy and the creator of the MAP (My Action Plan) framework, which helps individuals move from overload to thoughtful action.
Sumathi brings deep experience in enterprise technology and people-centered program design.
She spent more than a decade at Hewlett-Packard, working on enterprise storage platforms and Disaster Recovery / High Availability (DR/HA) product suites, supporting mission-critical systems for global organizations.
She later co-founded ActOnMagic Technologies, contributing to the company’s growth and its eventual acquisition by NTT Netmagic.
At HabitZup, Sumathi focuses on designing programs that help children, families, and communities build strong habits, emotional awareness, and character foundations for life.
Our Story
From Building Cloud Infrastructure to Building Human Clarity
Enterprise Builders. Startup Founders. Now Focused on Building Human Clarity.
HabitZup was founded by technologists who spent years building large-scale enterprise platforms — and later realized that the hardest systems to manage are not machines, but human decisions.
Both founders began their careers at Hewlett-Packard, working on critical enterprise infrastructure used by organizations around the world.
Madan worked on Internet Services for HP-UX, HP Server Blade systems, and the HP Insight management suite, helping design platforms that powered large-scale computing environments.
Sumathi worked on enterprise storage platforms and Disaster Recovery / High Availability (DR/HA) solutions, ensuring mission-critical systems could survive failure and recover quickly.
Later, Madan joined Citrix Systems, where he helped build cloud portals and XenServer self-service platforms, enabling service providers to operate cloud infrastructure with integrated BOSS (Business Operations Support Systems).
Building and Exiting a Cloud Startup
After years in enterprise technology, Madan and Sumathi co-founded ActOnMagic Technologies, a cloud infrastructure startup focused on simplifying operations for service providers.
The company was eventually acquired by NTT Netmagic, where the founders helped scale teams and cloud products supporting global customers.
This experience reinforced an important realization: Technology keeps getting smarter — but human thinking is becoming more distracted.
Why HabitZup
Information is everywhere today. Artificial intelligence can generate answers instantly. But the real challenge is not access to information — it is clarity of judgment.
- How do we think clearly?
- How do we build strong habits?
- How do we make wise decisions under pressure?
HabitZup was created to address this gap. Through books, tools, workshops, and structured frameworks like MAP (My Action Plan), HabitZup helps people practice something rarely taught in schools or workplaces: The discipline of thoughtful living.
The Mission
In an AI-driven world, the most valuable skill is not just intelligence. It is Actual Intelligence — the ability to pause, reflect, decide wisely, and act with character.
HabitZup exists to help people build that capacity.
